Terms

Terms, in plain language.

The rules of the thing, without the fog.

What you buy

You pay once. In exchange you receive a download containing The Eternal Journal: a single self-contained HTML file that runs in your browser, a second identical copy to give away, the manuals, and the supporting documents. There is no subscription, no recurring charge, no seat count, no licence server.

Licence

You receive a personal, perpetual licence to use the file we send you, on the devices you own, for as long as you like, plus the one gift copy included in the package. You may keep backup copies for yourself. You may not resell, sub-licence, or redistribute the file as a product. Site licences for clinics, practices and schools are available on request.

Ownership of your writing

Everything you write in The Eternal Journal is yours. It stays on your device, encrypted with your passphrase. We cannot see it, cannot reach it, and cannot recover it. If you lose the passphrase, the writing is gone, and that is the point.

Guarantee and refunds

Thirty days, money back, one e-mail. See the guarantee page for how that works in practice. The file stays yours either way.

No warranty beyond that

Past the guarantee, the file is provided as-is. We test it, we care about it, and we will help if something is broken, but we cannot promise it suits every workflow on Earth. That is what the thirty days are for.

Consumer law

If you are buying from within the EU or the wider EEA, your statutory consumer rights apply on top of everything above, and nothing in these terms takes them away. Our guarantee is meant to be more generous than the legal minimum, not less. Note that by downloading the file immediately after purchase you begin performance of a digital-content contract; our thirty-day refund applies regardless.

Who we are, and who takes the payment

The Eternal Journal is made and operated by Meanwhile, a Dutch general partnership, trading as Offline.Ltd. Payment is handled by Paddle as merchant of record, so Paddle is the seller on the transaction and your receipt will name them. Paddle handles the card, the tax and the invoice; we handle the product and the support.

Governing law

Dutch law applies to these terms, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections in your own country of residence.
