The Eternal Journal is for people who want to write things down that are for no one else: deep-focus writers, fountain pen and paper-notebook people who want a digital counterpart with the same values, and privacy-minded users who don't want their inner life on someone else's server.

## Core facts

- One-time purchase, no subscription, no account, no cloud.
- Single self-contained HTML file; runs offline in any modern browser; no network calls.
- Entries encrypted client-side with AES-256-GCM (PBKDF2 key derivation); the passphrase never leaves the device; no recovery if forgotten — by design.
- Entries stored locally (IndexedDB, localStorage fallback). Backup = built-in export to one encrypted .json file; import merges it back on any copy.
- License: three personal devices plus one identical copy to give away. Not technically enforced — honor system.
- 30-day no-questions refund. Checkout via Paddle (merchant of record, handles VAT).
